Quad Blogging Excitement Builds!

We have really been enjoying all the commenting conversations we've been having with our new buddies in:

Mr. Avery’s Classroom Blog 4th Grade Massachusetts, USA

3DD Classroom Blog Grade 3 Australia

Mrs. Ranney's Classroom Blog 3rd Grade California, USA

Mrs. Watson's 2/3 Class British Columbia, Canada

One thing of particular interest to us has been checking the
world time zone map to see what time it is
where each buddy class is located!

 In addition, we have been very excited to watch as our
visitor count has been rising rapidly!

 At last count, we had 7,798 visits!
That means only 202 to go to hit 8,000!

Please help us meet that goal by visiting, and, of course, commenting on this or any other post you might be interested in!

We love to keep the conversation going!

What have you enjoyed most so far about
Quad Blogging?

  2. Mrs. Ranney's class,

    You should be at 8,000 in no time at all! That's quite the accomplishment to be at 7,798. We have a long way to go until we get there! We've had 2,821 visitors. Can any of you figure out how many more visitors you've had than we have?

    We live on the east coast of the United States in Massachusetts. We are about 30 minutes from Boston. Most of us are big fans of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics, and New England Patriots.

    Were you able to figure out the difference in time between where you are and we are? If it was 4:00 p.m. here, what time would it be where you live?

    Keep up all the great work!

    Dear Mr. Avery,
    Thank you so much for your comment. We really enjoyed reading it!

    We found out that we have had 4,977 more visits than your class, but we're sure your number will go up soon! Ours already has gone up by 66 since yesterday. We're now at 7,864 visits!

    We live on the west coast of the United States in California, and we live in a suburb about 30 minutes outside of Los Angeles. Of course, that travel time depends a lot on the traffic on our local freeways! People in the LA area root for the Los Angeles Dodgers or the Anaheim Angels and the Los Angeles Lakers or Clippers. Since LA no longer has its own football team, many people support the Oakland Raiders, who used to be based in Los Angeles, the San Francisco 49ers, or
    the San Diego Chargers. We also root for our local hockey team, the Kings! What hockey team do you support?

    Yes, we were able to figure out the time difference between our states. If it was 4:00 P. M. in Massachusetts, it would be 1:00 P.M. here. We are on Pacific Standard Time, which is 3 hours earlier than your time. What time zone are you located in? We will be experiencing Daylight Savings Time this weekend, will you?

    Keep in touch!

  10. Dear Mrs. Ranney's class,

    You did a great job figuring out that math problem! 4,977 more visitors than us? We've got a long way to go!

    The hockey team that we like is the Boston Bruins. My favorite are the Patriots and Red Sox but I got to go see a Boston Celtics game the other day. That was a lot of fun. Have any of you ever been to see a professional sports game?

    We are in the Eastern Standard Time. We will be experiencing Daylight Savings Time as well. I really like when it stays light even later. It starts to feel like spring for us!

    Keep up all your wonderful work!

As you know we wrote your class a comment and I reilized we have some things the same and some things different. Next week you should check out the posts about us. At reccess some of us play soccer. I play zombie tag it is when some one is a zombie and the humans go on the junglegym.
    The zombie stays on the ground and all of the humans try to avoid being tagged by the zombie if you get tagged you are a zombie if you are the last one to be tagged you are the starting zombie. I hope you try the game:).

  17. Dear Ella,
    What is it like to live in California? What kind of animals do you mostly see? In Plympton we see mostly squirrels, deer and wild turkeys. Plympton has a lot of horse farms and one llama farm.

    In the winter it is very cold. The temperature is usually 32 degrees F. In the summer it is around 80 or 90 degrees F.

    Sincerely,
    Natalie S ♥

  18. Dear Natalie,

    I really enjoy our conversation! Here in California, it gets hot in the summer, but it does not get too cold in the winter. In Calabasas where I live, the summers are very hot. It never gets too cold in the winter, so we never get snow. Does it snow a lot in Plympton? I wish we could have some snow. There are also not a lot of rainy days here, and the sun is usually shining, so we can do many outdoor activities most days. Do you have recess and lunch outside when it gets to be so cold? We have some beaches close by, probably because we live on the Pacific Coast.

    Like you, we see a lot of squirrels where we live and some deer, but we never see wild turkeys. I actually do not even know how a wild turkey looks. We do have some red tail hawks in our neighborhoods, and I like watching them glide.

    Calabasas is a suburb. Do you live in a suburb, an urban, or a rural area? Do you have a beach close by?

    Yours truly,
    Ella

  20. Dear Ella,
    I never knew that it would get cold in California! Wild turkeys look dark brown. I will answer your questions later. Recess just finished.

  24. Dear All Quad Blogging Buddies,

    Hi! My name is Leah and I am from Mrs. Ranney’s Class.

    @Mrs. Watson’s class

    I have noticed that the weather here is very different from yours! For us, this week will be sunny all the time, but for you, it will be raining every day! You get colder weather because your island is closer to the North Pole. If we were close to the North Pole like you, we would not have a lot of sun.

    @Ben

    These are the lyrics to our school song (sung to the tune “Take Me Out To The Ball Game”):

    Take me out to the school yard
    Take me back to my class
    I’ve got some paper and pencils too
    I have got some learning to do
    At Chaparral Elementary
    It’s the place for me
    To think, learn and be with my pals
    Life is good at Chaparral!

    @Mr. Avery

    In the school yard game “Bamboo”, two people race against each other in a version of “tag”. You play it by jumping over two parallel bars and at the same time you are trying to tag the other person. If you get tagged, you loose! If you get too tired to continue to race, you yell out “Bamboo” and the other person wins. When you win, you get to play the next person in the line.

    @Lily

    My favorite game to play at recess and lunch is Bamboo. What game do you like to play at recess and lunch?

    Your New Blogging Buddy,

    Leah ☆
