November is Family Blogging Month!

Mrs. Ranney and her students to share what they are
learning and experiencing.

In an effort to include more family members in our online community, we are proclaiming:

November is Family Blogging Month!

Each student made a list of their family members. After looking through the archive, students selected specific posts tailored to the interest of a particular relative.

We're inviting everyone to comment: moms, dads, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
We welcome friends, too!

Students will be inviting their family and friends to participate in a conversation!

Frogger, the Blogger, says:
"Maybe we'll get some 2-point comments! Follow the chart below for some tips!"

Here is the key we will use for  Family Blogging Month~

What do you think of our idea?

Who are you inviting to be a part of our online community?

I think it's a great idea! I'm trying to invite my grandparents, mom, and dad. My grandparents don't now how to comment yet so I am going to teach them.

    Wish me luck!

  2. Dear Mrs. Ranney's Class,

My name is Natali and I am Eve's mom. I am so excited that you have decided to invite the family to your blogging community. I think it is a great idea and a great way to share information about our classmates. By getting to know each other’s families we actually get to know each other better as well. It is also a good way to share different customs, traditions and just share in general. I will be inviting my mother, Eve's grandmother, to join in as well. I look forward to read the family comments and to be a part of the community.

    Excitedly Yours,
    Natali ★

  3. Dear Mrs. Ranney's Class,

I am Grace's mom, Tami. I am a brownie troop leader with Maya's mom. We had a wonderful time today visiting the Leonis Adobe historical landmark, which is right here in Calabasas! Our troop learned so much about being a farmer and rancher in our local mountain range, El Scorpion. At that time, the ranch began next to Sagebrush Cantina and extended as far back as Bell Canyon. One of the most interesting facts that Grace remembered from the tour is that they lived in a home with dirt floors and she enjoyed meeting the family that lived there through the historical pictures posted all over the home. The man that lived there was very wealthy, so the family had a kitchen that was unlike many homes of that time period. Also, they had a stove outside that was used to cook large animals like cows to feed the entire ranch. They used the sheep's wool to make scarves and sell them to people in the area and in Los Angeles. In those days, they rode stage coaches and it took 3 days to get to the city of Los Angeles and back to Calabasas to gather supplies!

It was much harder to live in that time period.

Hope you and your family get to visit some time soon!

    Sincerely,

    Grace and her mom

  5. Dear Mrs.Ranney's Class,

My name is Libeth, I am Francesca's mother. We want to share a story about our dog Max. Almost 5 years ago, there was a dog who was mistreated by his owner. This poor dog was a beautiful black lab that never received any kind of love and affection. For almost 2 years he was outside day and night without a dog house. This person moved out and left the dog. The dog was in the shelter when we adopted him. We teach Max how to live with people and he learned very fast how to gives and receives love. He is very sweet with the kids and we love him very much.

    Sincerely,
    Francesca's mom:)

  11. Dear Mrs.Ranney and class,

I want to share a story about our puppy called Lucky. He is almost 3 years old. It all started when my dad and I were given a dog called Pepper. He was only 2 years old. My sister's friend had 5 dogs and 3 cats. She gave us Pepper. After 9 months he died because a coyote bit him in the neck. We took him to the animal hospital. They said that the doctor will try to do his best to keep Pepper alive. He also said it will take 2 hours to try. My mom and I were so sad. I asked my mom if he would be be ok. And my mom said maybe. After 2 hours we went back to the animal hospital. The doctor said he didn't make it. My mom and I were super sad. After we told my dad about Pepper he said that I should look for another dog. I searched and searched and finally I found a dog. My dad called the owner. He came all the way from Dallas,Texas. His name was Grayson. We called him lucky. And that's the story about Lucky and Pepper.

    Best regards,
Cipriano ( Vanessa's dad) and Vanessa

Hi I am Tanya, Maya's mom. I really love the idea of family blogging month. It is a great way to get family members involved. The blogging chart under Frogger the Blogger is very helpful. I used it to show Maya's brother how to post a quality comment.
How do I make symbols in my comment? I noticed some people use heart or star symbols.

    Sincerely,
    Tanya (Maya's mom) :)

My name is Blaze and I am Hayley's pet. I am a Senegal Parrot. I am 9 months old. I was adopted by Hayley and her mom, stepdad and brother in June when I was 4 months old. I love to play with Hayley and her brother Reed. I love to cuddle and sit on shoulders. I also like to chew on things....especially pencils! So keep your pencils away or else they will turn into sawdust! I also like to talk.....right now I just imitate sounds, but someday hope to say "Good Morning" and "pretty bird".

    That's all for now....

I was born in New York, but Shawn has never been! He is very excited, and I'm excited to show him around! While we are there, we will also be visiting with my aunts, uncles and cousins. I was a Christmas present for Grace. She was so happy when she saw me. She couldn't believe that she got her own fish. We even took a picture of her surprised look on Christmas morning. It was really hilarious. I was so happy to be a part of the family.

My brother, Benett, lost his 4th tooth today. He got a silver dollar from the tooth fairy. He lost his tooth by biting into a bagel for breakfast. Then, when Benett saw his tooth he screamed and was very happy. Then he said, "Mommy I lost a tooth." The whole family was really excited. I had to write this for him because he was too embarrassed.

  37. Dear Class, I wanted to share what I found online regarding the Navajo Indians and their Thanksgiving. "For some Native Americans Thanksgiving is not quite the same kind of celebration that it is for other Americans. After all, the Pilgrim arrival and settlement didn’t exactly work out well for the Natives. In the vast Navajo Nation in the southwest, many do gather with families to give thanks on this holiday, just like their Anglo neighbors. But Navajo traditions teach them that Thanksgiving is, for them, a daily practice."
I think this is very interesting and we can all be thankful for every day.

  38. Living alone could be an exciting new experience for
any one. Living by your individual guidelines slightly than following someone
else's desires and routines can genuinely feel liberating, but it surely
also comes with some important security concerns.

In particular when you're a girl, living alone requires extra precautions in order to keep safe.
In an effort to decrease security threats, girls living alone ought
to follow these basic safety ideas:
First, don't advertise that you reside alone. Be sensible
about the data you give to be able to the general
public. Keep away from making unnecessary feedback about your circumstances to
anybody, such as the cashier on the grocery retailer potentially a new acquaintance you've met in any setting.
Your mailbox should say very primary initial and final
name; the identical goes for avoiding identifying info
upon your answering machine. Retain the curtains closed.
An empty window giving view to a lady who is consistently alone will
let you appear to perceived as simple target.

Call in for security checks. Does your mother nonetheless say
"call me once you get home" anytime a person depart her home?
Eliminate comply with throughout? If not, you must!
The identical goes for when you're heading to a date,
towards the bar, or anyplace else alone, particularly

Start this habit now positive someone will discover http://locksmithbocaraton.biz in the event you do not come home
when planned. When possess different friends who dwell alone, provide to
do exactly the same for them.
Do not let strangers into your home for any reasons. Should you should call a plumber or repairman, have someone come over so you're not
on its own. By no means let strangers in in the event that they arrive unannounced, even once they appear to have
a extremely good justification. Even opening the door
to say 'no' can certainly be a dangerous threat to your own home safety, as
they merely overpower you and pressure their way inside.

Date carefully. Never give out your individual home address to somebody you've got simply met; instead,
organize to fulfill them in a public place, perhaps a restaurant or cafe.

If possible, have a friend tag along; on the very least, let someone

Be cautious considerably common areas from the apartment complex.
Gyms, mail rooms, parking lots, and laundry rooms could
