  1. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
I loved the skunk. I enjoyed touching the salamander because it was soft and moist. I can't believe spiders can shed their skin!

    Best Wishes,

  2. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
I truly enjoyed the game where we felt the rubber animals footprints and guessed which animal made the footprint. I also enjoyed touching the salamander because it was slimy. A fact I learned about the skunk is each of its teeth are made for a different type of food.
    Sincerely,
    Roxana

  3. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

I thought the animals that "Wildlife Experience" brought were awesome! I learned that the turkey vulture can hold food in its crop. I like "Wildlife Experience" because we have done a lot of activities with Mrs. C.

  4. Dear Mrs. Ranney
I like the new post. Here is a fact I learned. The turkey vulture has a black head when it is a baby, and when it is one year old, its head changes to red. My favorite animal was the tiger salamander because it was wet and had tiger stripes. When the skunk was a baby it was attacked by something and a jogger found it. I like Wild Life Experience.

    Best,
    Jake

  5. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

I loved all the animals so far. I liked the Barred owl the best because it doesn't have a lot of predators, and it has silent flight. They make a hoo hoo sound. Thank you Wildlife Experience!

    Sincerely,

    Eli

  6. Dear Mrs.Ranney,

I loved "Wild Life Experience" because I loved to touch the slimy and wet salamander. I loved the striped skunk the best because it has very sharp teeth. When you hear a whooing sound at night in northern California, it is a barred owl. The tiger salamander is named Tiger Salamander because of its stripes. Sadly the turkey vulture and the barred owl have a broken right wing.

    Best wishes,
    Cameron

  7. Dear Mrs.Ranney,

I enjoyed Wildlife Experience coming to our classroom. My favorite animal was the turkey vulture because it can smell from 2 miles away. One fact that wasn't on the slide show is that when the turkey vulture is eating near a road and a car comes it throws up all its food, so it's light enough to fly and then flies back down and eats it. My favorite thing about Wildlife Experience is that the animals do funny things. I noticed that when Marisa was talking the owl was looking at her.

    Sincerely,
    Liam

  8. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
The great animals that were shown were amazing! I learned that the turkey vulture eats its prey and then throws up, flies back down, and eats it again! I enjoyed all the animals that Mrs. C brought to us. I loved the interesting and huge owl. I think I even have a owl in my backyard because every night I hear a hoot.
I had a whole bunch of fun with the skunk, barred owl, tiger salamander, and the turkey vulture.

    Sincerely
    Leanne

  9. Dear Class and Mrs.Ranney,

I liked the turkey vulture that had the broken wing the most out of all of the animals that the Animal Wildlife person, Mrs.C, brought! I liked the turkey vulture because it was a "redhead".

  10. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

I loved the first two days of Wildlife Experience. One fact I learned was that when turkey vultures are one year old, they have black heads. Another fact I learned was that Punk the Skunk had the disease called pneumonia, which is the worst cold you can have.

Wildlife Experience was as great as if I saw those four animals in the wild!

    Sincerely,
    Carson

  11. Dear Mrs.Ranney,
What I really enjoyed about Wild Life Experience is that she brought in a tiger striped salamander. I liked it because it was very moist and was very wet. What I also like about the Tiger striped salamander is that her name is Sally. When I saw the turkey vulture, I thought it was interesting. When I saw the skunk, I felt really bad that they had to do CPR on the skunk and give lots of medicine to it. The owl we saw was very cute, and it scared me when he flapped his wings. I loved seeing those different animals!!!

    Regards,
    Aalisha

  12. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
I really enjoyed "Wild Life Experience" coming to our class. I liked it because I really like animals. It was very interesting when I learned that the salamander has two things behind its leg, which tells that it's a male.

  13. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
I loved the animals. One awe- inspiring fact that I learned is that a turkey vulture will swoop down from the sky and twist and pull the animal they are eating. Another interesting fact is that a salamander will jump out of the water and pull the food which is a cricket and drowns the food to eat because it doesn't have an teeth. My favorite time when Ms. C came was when she brought the skunk and the barred owl. One time when a person was jogging, she saw that there were 5 skunks that were dead except one. That skunk was named Punk the Skunk, and she was barely breathing! Now she's very healthy!!!

    Best Wishes,
    Andy

  14. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
I really enjoyed the Wildlife Experience so far. I also enjoyed guessing what animal's foot Mrs. C was showing us. The turkey vulture was interesting to me because when they are one year old their heads are black, and when they turn older than one, their heads become red. My favorite animal so far is the tiger salamander because of the stripes on its body and because of how big he was! Wildlife Experience is giving me give me an amazing experience!

    Sincerely,
    Andrew S.

  16. I learned so many new interesting facts. I can't remember all of them, but here are some. I learned that the skunk’s spray cannot hurt an owl at all. My favorite animal was Sally the salamander because of its moist and very smooth skin.

One fact is that the salamander can lay eggs.

I enjoyed learning that the turkey vulture can smell from 2 miles away.
    Best,
    Ethan;)

  17. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

I loved all the animals we have seen so far. I learned that when you want to tell if a skunk is comfortable, their tails stick down, and if they are not comfortable their tails stick all the way up. I also learned that Punk the skunk's siblings all died, but Punk stayed alive.

    Best,
    Sara :]

  18. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

The animal I most enjoyed was the owl, which is my favorite animal. My favorite fact about the owl was that its prey is a skunk! I also loved the salamander. It was interesting how it felt. To me it felt like rubber and on top of the skin it felt like slimy. I can’t wait to see more animals!

    Best Wishes,
    Natalie
