    Dear Mrs. Ranney and class,

What a wonderful open house tonight! Your hard work and effort was displayed in each and every project that all of you did throughout the year. I loved how colorful the room was. Some of my personal favorites were The Ocean Habitat, the Rain Forest wanted posters, and your spectacular biography timelines! I also loved the creativity of using your biography subject to show how to solve a math problem! This was one of the best open houses I have ever been to (and I have been to many).

Thank you for making it so interesting and special.

    Sincerely,

    Andrea (Charlotte's mom)

  2. Hello Mrs. Ranney,

I was so impressed with all of the hard work your class put into Open House! Seeing the variety of different projects was so much fun and shows everything the children have learned throughout the year. My favorite part of the evening was getting to look through Tyler's binder and read his stories. That is a very special thing to have that he will look back on fondly in years to come.

Thank you for all of your wonderful effort!

    Best,
    Kelly (Tyler's Mom)

  3. Dear Mrs. Ranney and Class,

Your Open House displays look beautiful. I especially liked your Desert Haiku display. It reminded me of your wonderful desert animal blog post I recently read.

    Well done, everyone! :)

    1. Dear Mr. Mannell,

Thank you for the fabulous compliment! I really liked the Desert Haiku display too. It was a little tricky coming up with the haiku and to make sure that it has the correct number of syllables. My friend and I made the sign as well.

The project that is my personal favorite is the biography timeline. All the dioramas of the important people were so creative. I did the report on Amelia Earhart, the famous woman pilot.

Because I love to work with my friends, I enjoyed the Rain Forest wanted posters. Charlotte and I worked on the three-toed sloth. Sloths are very fascinating mammals, besides the fact that they are extremely slow.

      I loved our Open House!

Does anyone else like the Rain Forest wanted posters?
      What was your animal?

  7. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

The Open House was impressive! What I enjoyed most was seeing the progression/improvement over the year - in handwriting, vocabulary and sentence complexity. The fish in the kelp project was beautiful. I noticed quite a few touching "I am Thankful for" projects. I appreciated the diversity of the projects on display - haikus, three dimensional objects, animals, videos, poems, ...

Thank you very much to you and your students for the wonderful work on display that night. I was very proud.
