Blogging Challenge: Avatars!

One of the tasks for Challenge #2 in the Student Blogging Challenge is to create an avatar.

An avatar
is an image or cartoon that is used to
represent a person online
An avatar can show a little about the person,  but should not reveal too much personal information.

For our educational blog, we use avatars to protect a child's true identity.

Mrs. Ranney has used several avatars in the past.

In the classroom...

As a little girl...

Doing a favorite activity...

Here are our new class avatars!

What do you think of our avatars?
Which is your favorite Mrs. Ranney avatar,
and why?
Have you ever used an avatar before? When?

I love our avatars, and I recognized everyone!

I like Mrs. Ranney's avatar as a child because she is cute. She has the same sweet smile today.

I have never used an avatar before.

  3. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

I enjoyed making my avatar. I think they are very interesting because everyone made theirs differently.

My favorite Mrs. Ranney avatar is the little girl picture. When she was a little girl she was very cute and it was fun to see our teacher as a child.

I have never used an avatar before.

    Your student,
    Aidan

  5. Dear Mrs. Ranny and class,

My name is Ryan. I am Justin's brother. I ♥ your avatars.
My favorite Mrs. Ranney avatar is the one as a child beacause I have never seen you as a child before.
I have a avatar on my blog.

I think it is cute how you only showed your eyes peeking over the picture. I think avatars are fun because you get to see a little a of your self and you also get to add anything you want. I give everyone 5 stars with your avatars.

I have some questions for you:
Do you think avatars are fun?
    If so, why?
If you could ad something to your avatars what would it be?

    From Justin's brother,

    Ryan ♥ ♥ ♠ ♠

  6. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

Our favorite Mrs. Ranney avatar is the picture of you holding your flowers. You have a giant smile on your face and really seem happy to have received them.

We really liked seeing all of the avatars from the class. It was fun to guess who belonged to everyone's eyes.

We have never used an avatar before.

    Sincerely,

    Jamie & Ellen (Jamie's mom)

  7. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
It is Carly and Emily. The avatars look so amazing. We think it is awesome that you made an avatar blog. We think it is really amazing that you used our lucky hat pictures. Which hat do you like the best out of the kids' lucky hats?

    Your Friends,
    Carly and Emily

  9. Dear Mrs. Ranney,
My favorite Mrs. Ranney avatar is the one with you holding the flowers. You look pretty and very happy. You look like you were enjoying yourself and the flowers.
It was fun guessing whose avatars was whose.
I have never used an avatar but I hope to sometime!
@Ryan I think avatars are fun. I think they are fun because it's you and other people can see a picture of you without you having to send it. There's really nothing I would change about avatars. They're already so amazing and there's nothing I would change?
Do you think avatars are fun?
    Why or why?
    Would you change anything?
    Did your class make avatars?

    Your Friend,
    Jamie

  12. Dear Mrs.Ranney,
It is Carly. I think everone looks awesome in their lucky hats!

My favorite Mrs.Ranney picture is the one with you holding the flower. I think you looked so cute! You looked so little.

    How old were you?

I am guessing you were about three because you looked so little. I think you had the same personality as you did when you were a kid because you looked so sweet in the pictures you were in. Your hair color looks the same as when you were a little kid. It looks very pretty.

    Warmly,
    Carly

  14. Dear Mrs.Ranney,
I didn't think I was going to be right that you were three years old in that picture but I guess I probably was right. I loved all of the pictures of you but my favorite was the one I said was my favorite on one of my other comments. I think you looked so nice if I was a kid when I was your age I would want to be your sister because you looked so nice. I have a question.

Do you have any sisters or brothers?

If you did not have any sisters or brothers did you wish to have one?

    Your Student,
    Carly

  15. @Ryan,

I think avatars are fun because you mostly make then with art, and I like art. I would add something to my avatar, I would make my "crown" bigger.

    Regards,
    Ariel

  16. Dear Mrs. Ranney,

This is the first time that I have ever used an avatar. I think that avatars are really magnificent! I cannot wait until I get to make another avatar! I wonder if I will ever get to make such good avatars though. I wish that I could make avatars as good as yours!

    Happy New Year!

    Warmly,
    Carly:)
