Lucky Hat Day, 2011!

Recently, Mrs. Ranney's class read "The Lost and Found", a story
in our anthology by Mark Teague.

The story is about three friends who get lost in the Lost and Found bin!
Their lucky hats bring them good luck at the end of the story.

For fun, we wore our lucky hats today!

There were so many creative and very lucky hats!

Some hats were frilly, some were shiny!

Some hats were decorated with buttons and glitter!

Some hats were beaded, and some were feathered!

Here's one that was cleverly created out of a plastic cup!

Dragonflies, butterflies, even googly eyes adorned some hats!

Here's a hat that was decorated by its owner in 3-D!

Some hats were special because they reminded us of a happy place to visit!

Hats of all shapes, sizes, and colors were present for Lucky Hat Day!

Even glamorous hats were worn!

Here's hat that had two special good luck symbols!

There sure was a lot of luck in our class on Lucky Hat Day!

  3. Dear Mrs. Ranney and class,

My lucky hat brought me luck because of the clovers and my lucky number 21. I just found out that I will be going to St Louis with my dad to see a baseball game.

  4. Dear Mrs. Ranney and class,

I enjoyed seeing all your lucky hats on the blog. You sure are a creative group! It was nice visiting your classroom last night and seeing your beautiful work up on the walls. I am really impressed by all the things you have already done in only a few days of school. I can't wait to see all the amazing things you'll be creating. I hope you enjoy your 3rd grade adventure!

  6. Dear Class,

Josh's hat was one of the most interesting hats because he had his sports buttons with his pictures on them. My hat brought me good luck because Wednesday was such a hot day and I had water bottles on it.

    See you tomorrow,
    Adam :)

  7. Dear Mrs.Ranney and class,

I loved all the hats that I saw at lucky hat day but the one that caught my eye and I thought was one of the most interesting was Quynh Anh. One of the reasons was the colorful, peacock feather sticking out of the back.

    Best Wishes,
    Bella

  8. Dear Mrs. Ranney & class,

Adam‘s hat was very interesting to me because he had water bottles on his hat and he could drink out of it. My lucky Indiana Jones hat gave me an adventurous day with lots of fun.

  11. Dear Mrs. Ranney

I put stickers and eyes on my hat. My hat gave me luck because my dad bought me a smoothie.

  12. Dear Mr.Ranney and class,

The hat that caught my eye the most was Missy's because it was very creative and different. My hat brings me luck and is special to me because it was given to me by my aunt that came to visit from Israel and who I love very much.

    Love,
    Eve

  13. Dear Mrs. Ranney and class,

I think that Sydney's hat was the most interesting hat to me. Her hat had a lot of things I like on it. It had tinfoil, stickers, beads, and a little umbrella on the top of the hat. I really liked it because it looked like she put a lot of effort into it.

I hope that lucky hat brought her a lot of luck.

    Cheers,
    Grace
