Dear Mrs. Ranney,
ReplyDeleteI am super excited to be in your class this year. I am especially looking forward to learning about blogging. My older sister Ellie had a blog in 3rd grade.
Over the summer, I did many interesting things. The first fun adventure I took was a 20-mile hike up to Mount Hoffman in Yosemite with my dad and older sister. I carried a 15-pound backpack, which held my sleeping bag, clothes, food and water. It took us 4 days to complete the hike. My next adventure was visiting my Nana in Boston for a week over the 4th of July holiday. I got to meet my baby cousin for the first time and we saw two different fireworks shows. One experience I had over the summer, was completing the Junior Lifeguard program at the Calabasas Tennis and Swim Center. I loved it! I learned CPR and first aid and had fun field trips to Zuma Beach and Hurricane Harbor. The summer wouldn't be complete without soccer training. I have a new team with good players and a great coach. We will have our first tournament this weekend. I cannot wait to play with my teammates.
I am looking forward to starting 3rd grade tomorrow, meeting you and seeing who will be in my class.
Sincerely, your new student,
Caiti

Dear Mrs. Ranney,
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to be in your class this year. I can't wait to learn and have fun with you and new classmates. I had a great summer this year. First of all, my dad visited for 2 weeks. We went to California Adventure Park, Knott's Berry Farm, and the Santa Monica Pier. This time I could ride the Dragon Ride at the Santa Monica Pier since I am taller now. Also I went Camp Keystone. Twix and Marty Mcfly were my counselors at Camp Keystone. I did a lot of fun things at camp and got a license for Go Karts. Last, I had fun time with my friends, like sleepover, swimming, and camp out at the camp over the summer.
See you tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Michelle

I know we'll have a great year together!
See you tomorrow.
Regards,
Mrs. Ranney
Dear Mrs. Ranney,
ReplyDeleteI had a great day today, and I know that we will have a great time all year. This summer I did a lot of fun things. First, I went to summer camp. It was really fun, and I did things like swimming in the swimming pool, bouncing in the inflatables, and going riding on the zip-lines. Also, I went to my first overnight campout. It was really fun. Second, my cousins from New York came to visit. We did fun things like going to Disneyland, Venice Beach, and I went to a place to learn how to make video games. Also, I went to Palm Springs to visit my grandparents. We had a great time. We took a tram up the mountain to a restaurant. When we were eating, they evacuated us because the mountain was on fire. Finally, when I got back from Palm Springs I got braces. The colors I got were pink and blue.
Sincerely,
Lexi
@Lexi,
DeleteWhat a wonderful detailed comment! Nice job!
It's wonderful that your were able to be a host to your cousins. I visited Palm Springs myself and even rode the tram and ate in the restaurant at the top. Later I'll share with you about the hike I took from the top of the tram to the peak of a nearby mountain! It was spectacular!
Looking forward to another great day with you tomorrow,
Mrs. Ranney
Dear Mrs. Ranney,
ReplyDeleteI'm Lexi's brother, Jaden. I'm not sure if you remember me, but I was in Mrs. Yollis' class 3 years ago, and earned my own blog. I've been excited for Lexi to begin her 3rd grade year, so she can start blogging too. Will she have an opportunity to earn a blog?
This summer, I did many fun things. The most fun thing that I did this summer was going to sleepaway camp. We played many sports like basketball, rugby, and a ropes course.
All in all, I hope that you and Lexi have a great school year together, and I look forward to helping her blog.
Sincerely,
Jaden (Lexi's brother)

Dear Mrs. Ranney,
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to be in your class! I am looking forward to learning my multiplication tables and science. I spent two weeks of my summer in Greece competing in a World Fitness competition. The cool thing was that I got to see a giant sea turtle while I was there and I won a third place and a first place medal. I also took a trip to Boston and my mom took me to see the house that she grew up in and I went to the farm where she got milk and ice cream. It was a mind blowing summer. It is exciting to blog for the first time.
