November is Family Blogging Month!

Mrs. Ranney and her students to share what they are
learning and experiencing.

In an effort to include more family members in our online community, we are proclaiming:

November is Family Blogging Month!

Each student made a list of their family members. After looking through the archive, students selected specific posts tailored to the interest of a particular relative.

We're inviting everyone to comment: moms, dads, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
We welcome friends, too!

Students will be inviting their family and friends to participate in a conversation!

Frogger, the Blogger, says:
"Maybe we'll get some 2-point comments! Follow the chart below for some tips!"

Here is the key we will use for  Family Blogging Month~

    Dear Class,
I am Gabrielle (Annsley's sister). I am 7 years old. I complete on team gymnastics for All Olympia Gymnastics Center.
I go to Chaparral. My teacher is Mrs. Broussard.

For Halloween, we went trick-or-treating at Mr. Detamore's house. He used to be a 3rd grade teacher here at Chaparral Elementary. We were surprised to learn that he gives out homework instead of candy. If I complete the homework and return it to him on Friday, he will give me candy. I think I will invite him to blog on Mrs. Ranney's site.

    Sincerely,
    Gabrielle

  2. Dear Mrs. Ranney and Class:

How was everyone's Halloween? Did you enjoy yourselves? Jacob and his two brothers went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood with some of their friends. They got a lot of candy, so they are donating some of it to the troops.

Jacob dressed up as a Ghostbuster, his younger brother wore an Iron Man costume, and his older brother was a boxer. What costume did you wear for Halloween?

    Sincerely,

    Michelle

  6. Hello Lucas and class,
Today we took a photo of the Indians who sell their jewelry every day under the portal of the Old Governor' Palace. They are the only people allowed to sell things and they sit under the portal with a blanket on the ground, where they display their wares. I can not figure out how to post the photo.

  7. Hello,
This is Lucy and Blue. We are part of Lucas' family. We are the dogs who belong to Lucas' Grammy and Grampy. Lucy is Babe's sister, an English Labrador, and Blue is a 127 lb. Doberman. Lucy and Babe miss seeing you Lucas. People see Doberman's in the movies and think they are not nice, in reality they are the sweetest dogs and ours is sweet as can be. Blue loves children and loves to be petted.

  9. Dear Class,
Did anyone forget about daylight savings time? In our house we all got up too early today. Santa Fe is the oldest capitol city in the United States.
Where we live now is like a small town. Even though Santa Fe is a city there is no traffic here and everything is close. We have hiking that Mrs. Ranney and her husband would enjoy. We also have a ski slope
and Mts and desert. We have different Indians living near by. The Navajo tribe takes their young children from their parents at an early age and the elders teach the children their own language. Different tribes have different customs.
    All the best,
    Grammy

What art projects do you do? Is it fun? What color are the walls? Do you get to use alphasmarts? Are there iPads in the room? If you know, please write us back.

  38. Hi, guys!

It's Noah's uncle, Allen, again. I forgot to share something really important last time.

You might remember we are coming all the way from Colorado to visit Noah and his famiy for Thanksgiving. Well, the other exciting news is that our trip also happens to fall at the same time of an important Jewish holiday this year.

That holiday is called Hanukkah. It's also known as the Festival of Lights.

This year, Hanukkah begins on the Wednesday right before Thanksgiving, which, of course, is always on the last Thursday of every November.

So, what does all this mean?

Well, for Noah and all of his relatives, it will mean two really fun back-to-back holidays!!!

Happy Thansgiving everyone and Happy Hanukkah!!!

  42. Yo, yo, yo, guys!

How is EVERYONE?! It's Noah's Uncle Allen and, boy, are we getting excited about our upcoming trip to California!!

Noah's cousins, Samanatha and Joshua, and their mother, Erica and I will all be driving from Colorado to California.

It's a long trip but it's going to be a blast!

I have the route all mapped out. We will be starting in Colorado, head north to Wyoming, then take a sharp left to drive into Utah.

Our first day on the road will end in Salt Lake City, which is the largest city in Utah.

The next morning, we'll get up early and head west again, driving through Nevada before finally crossing the border into California.

Our first stop before we get to Noah's house will be in San Francisco. And after two days there, we'll finally head south to Woodland Hills, where Noah and his family live.

This is going to be tons and tons of fun!

Happy Thanksgiving you guys! We hope everyone has the best holiday ever!!
