Cheer camp was fun, but I broke my arm while doing a back walkover.

One of the things that I liked about cheer camp was that we performed a show at the end of the week and the Laker Girls came and signed autographs. They seemed really nice and we even given outfits and pompoms. Our performance was exciting and nerve-racking, but in the end I was very proud of myself. After I did my cheer and tumbling routine, the group did a finale stunt. Unfortunately, since I had broken my arm, I was only able to do a middle split.

Even still, cheer camp was a great experience!Jadenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879184421580483050.post-12262613632234164042014-06-22T11:30:07.948-07:002014-06-22T11:30:07.948-07:00@Blythe,

One fun activity we did was play in the sand and surf at Malibu beach. We even found a real message in a bottle! Actually my sister Teddi found it. It had washed up upon the sandy shore. We decided to open it even though my older sister Grace was nervous and didn't think we should. Anyway, it was a beautiful note written by a girl to her (sadly) dead mother. It was very heartfelt. It was written the day before! Grace insisted we put the note back in, seal it up tightly and throw it into the sea where the author intended for it to be. I am very happy we made sent it back into the crashing waves! It was a very emotional moment.

I miss you,

Blythe Teddihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14997134978813406795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879184421580483050.post-36846031349019398832014-06-19T07:35:04.517-07:002014-06-19T07:35:04.517-07:00My comment: Dear Olivia,

One of the adaptations is that its ears are large so when it is hot its veins take the hot air and makes it cold. One of the reasons was because he was so cute and I appreciated learning about his adaptations. My favorite adaptation was his big ears that help him hear predators from far away. This way he can avoid being eaten. He also uses his ears to cool himself down when he is really hot. Living in the desert, this seems like a great adaptation to have. Another useful adaptation is the fur on his paws so he can run across the hot sand without burning himself. I wish that I could have fur on my feet so I could run across the hot sands at the beach and not get burned. The Fennec Fox is well suited for living in a desert environment. I was wondering, what animal did you enjoy learning the most about and why? I am also curious to see what Mrs. C. will bring in next? I am hoping to see a baby koala or a baby pig because they both seem like entertaining animals to learn about.

Your Animal Friend,

KimKimnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879184421580483050.post-36737660014200962512014-06-04T16:13:06.158-07:002014-06-04T16:13:06.158-07:00Dear Mrs. Ranney and Class,

My favorite animal was Moose, the Fennec Fox, because he has the biggest ears I have ever seen on such a small animal. His little moaning sounds were so adorable. It would be joyful to have Moose as a pet because he would be easy to hold and take care of. Also, we both love fruit and hot weather. Most fennec foxes live in the Sahara desert in North Africa, but they can be household pets. I can’t believe that they like eating scorpions and that they can live up to 14 years! Moose reminded me of a Chihuahua, except with bigger ears. If I had him as a pet, he would be protected from his main predator, the eagle owl. My Wildlife Experience was awesome, mostly because of Moose.

Sincerely,
Ayden
Ayden Sayerihttp://mrsranneysclassroomblog.blogspot.com/2014/06/wonderful-wild-and-amazing-animals-2014.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879184421580483050.post-31337519694899113472014-06-04T15:50:54.230-07:002014-06-04T15:50:54.230-07:00Dear Mrs. Ranney and Class,

I remember reading this book, and I liked it so much that know I have read all of the Ramona books. They are so funny and eventful! I recommend these books to many kids.

Now for the fads. A fad that was popular not long ago was Rainbow Loom bracelets. Everyone wore them and made them at home. I remember going home after school, finishing my homework, and then sitting down to make at least ten bracelets. I did this because my friends and I were going to work at a booth at the Calabasas Classic. All the money we were raising was for Breast Cancer research. (During the Calabasas Classic, I saw Mrs. Ranney running past me.)

A fad that is now known is the Living Royal pants. These are the pants that have a lot of pictures or icons covering them. For example, I have seen many kids wear the pants with a closeup photo of weaved bracelets. These pants are also going to be part of the costume some of the girls in my Variety Show group are going to wear.

I think fads are very interesting, depending on what it is about.

Your old third grader,
AlexandraAlexandranoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879184421580483050.post-20337988475148622302014-05-28T15:34:11.054-07:002014-05-28T15:34:11.054-07:00Dear Class,

Instead of shoe skates, we had metal skates that clamped onto our shoes. They were adjustable and had to be tightened and loosened with a key. One very popular fad was to wear our skate keys around our necks on a lanyard, which we made ourselves. If I can still find the one I used to wear, I'll bring it in to show you!

Later when I was in high school and college, some of the fads were wearing bell bottoms, making and wearing "love beads," and for girls, wearing our hair very long, straight, and parted down the middle. The "happy face" also became popular back in the 60's and 70's, as well as the peace sign!

I am especially interested to read about the fads that your parents and grandparents remember!

Sincerely,
Mrs. RanneyMrs. Ranneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02569904843028235217noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5879184421580483050.post-67265725605602938932014-05-28T14:04:24.185-07:002014-05-28T14:04:24.185-07:00Dear Mrs. Ranney and class,

It is so popular that people are happily wearing t-shirts, and they are also making or watching Minecraft videos regularly. This is when they are not playing the game Minecraft on their iPad, iPhone, Xbox, computer, or PlayStation. You can find it easily in the App Store. My favorite device to play it on is the Xbox because you can build a giant castle in creative mode where you have every single block in the game. You can also switch to survival mode where you can sadly get destroyed by a monster. In survival mode, you can still use your castle for shelter. In case you didn't know, survival mode is a mode where you need to survive by hunting and protecting yourself at night.

I like this fad because it makes your brain grow rather than other video games that make it rot. I hope this fad stays forever, but every fad wears out.

Cheers,

Colin Colinnoreply@blogger.com
